iCAN PLAY
This week our topic is all about Night time. The learners have been busy making a moon and stars. We used a mixture of white paint and flour. To complete the moon we added craters using the lid of water bottle.
In Mathematics, we have been finding circle shapes outside and we also continued to practise our counting skills by bouncing the ball.
Nursery
This week we have been learning all about winter. We have been looking at video clips on changes of weather patterns and activities people do during the winter. We had fun making snowman, reindeer hats and snowflakes.
This week we have been busy in phonics finding words that begin with the letter sound ‘s’ and ‘a’. We played various letter sound games.
This week we have been practising forming numbers with various resources. We have been working hard playing games on number recognition using the interactive whiteboard. We also enjoyed measuring snowman with coloured cubes.
Reception
This week we have been learning all about the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. We worked together to make a large Menorah with 9 candles and added cotton soaked in paint for the flame.it was fun as we learned to take turns and share the resources available.
In maths we have been learning to measure short periods of time. We had lots of fun timing each other writing our names, building towers of 20 bricks and jumping 10 times and using the big timer on the interactive board. We have also been learning to record our timings in different ways using sand timer and stopwatches.
We hope to see you all for our Exit Point on Thursday 17th December at 1.30pm.
Next week we will be learning all about Christmas!

In maths we have been learning the names and properties of 3D shapes. We loved eating the 3D shapes- we ate triangular prisms, cones, cubes and spheres.
FAMILY LEARNING DAY IN NURSERY AND RECEPTION
It was fantastic to share all our learning with our families on Family Learning Day! The parents joined in and learn how to play the structures: Mix, Pair, Share, Inside outside circle and line up. A big thank you to all the parents who joined us in our learning! It was indeed a fun day!

In Nursery we have been continuing our learning about the senses

Reception
This week in Reception we have been learning all about Halloween and Bonfire night. We have been talking about why and how people celebrate these festivals.
We learned how to make orange by mixing the primary colours, yellow and red. We then used the orange paint to make our own silly faced pumpkins for Halloween.

iCAN PLAY
What an incredible learning week it has been at iCAN PLAY!
We have started our learning block 2 unit, Transport. This week we have been busy learning about land transport. The learners enjoyed riding and exploring the tuk tuk!
This week in Literacy, the learners have been using zooming pens to make marks. We have also been making our own car registrations.
In maths we’re learning to recognise numbers 1-3 using number roads trough play. Our learners had fun playing and tracing cars on the numbers!
Nursery
We have been very busy learners learning all about Our Five Senses . Last week we learnt about sight. We walked around the school looking at things we see and drew pictures. We painted colourful pictures and mixed colours to see how they change
This week we are learning about hearing. We took a listening walk, drew pictures and made shakers. We enjoyed playing musical instruments to make loud and quiet sounds.

RECEPTION
Entry Point for our new unit, Festivals and Celebrations
e were really busy getting ready for Daisy Bear and Kala Kuala’s birthday parties for our entry point on Friday. We wrote invitations to our teddy bears inviting them along; we made and decorated cup cakes as well as decorations. We had a fantastic time celebrating their birthdays and really enjoyed eating our yummy food.
This week we have been learning all about Eid and how people around the world celebrate this festival.
Next week we will be learning all about bonfire night and Halloween.

Book Day in EYs
23/10/2015
This week have been a very busy, fun week for our learners in EYs. We have been listening to various stories such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Pirates Love Underpants, Rumble in the jungle, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar and we loved acting out the stories. We had fun exploring other classes in EYs.
iCAN PLAY learners visited iCAN main site for bedtime stories with Nursery learners.
Reception learners had a great time role playing their story, Pirate love underpants.
In music session Miss Joann and the adults were acting out the story,The Three Little Pigs!
Reception and Nursery learners had so much fun acting out the story, Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

iCAN PLAY
We had fun learning All About Me. It has been a great learning journey discovering the different parts of the body.
Nursery
In our swimming lessons we’re learning how to do safe entries and various other fun games.
This week we have been learning about ‘My Favourites’! We painted our favourite fruits and animals.
In our phonics we have been revising sitting and listening skills and awareness of sounds in the environment.
In our math learning we have begun to order numbers 1-10. we have been practising it through line up structure game.
RECEPTION
This week we have been learning about places in Phnom Penh. We used junk materials, wooden blocks and Duplo to make junk models of palaces.
We used our imaginations to create and decorate our own beautiful crowns.
In phonics we have been learning the sounds ‘g’ and ‘o’ and the high frequency words ‘in’ and ‘at’. We are starting to segment and blend words in simple sentences. In math’s we have worked in pairs on a nature treasure hunt. We found bowls with different numbers of beautiful natural objects and then counted the objects and matched them to the correct number.

iCAN PLAY
This week we have been busy looking at our body. We traced around the doll and named different parts of the body. We made facial features using playdough.
Nursery
In Nursery this week we have been learning all about ‘My Body’ We looked at a power point and non-fiction books on body parts to learn and understand the names and functions.
The questions we used in our learning this week…
Reception
This week we have been learning about ‘People Who Help Us’. We have made fireman hats, read stories about fireman, policeman, doctors and other people who help us. We also made a woven police car by practising our weaving and fine motor skills by going under and over!
In phonics we have learned the sound ‘ m’ and ‘ d’. We have also introduced the high frequency words ‘is’ and ‘it’. We have enjoyed making milkshake with mango during our cooking and dicing the mangoes.
In maths we have been learning number bonds to 5. We had fun assembling biscuits with different combinations of jam and cheese spread. We also wrote a number sentence to match the number bond that we made.
Next week is our last week learning ‘All About Me and Our Environment’. We are looking forward to our exciting Exit Point of visiting the Royal Palace on Thursday!

Nursery
In Nursery this week we have been learning all about feelings and emotions. In our day openers we talked about how we feel and shared it with other learners in the class. We made emotion puppets and made different faces of emotions
Reception
This week we have been learning all about different countries and learning about where our class mates come from. We have really enjoyed trying different foods from all over the world. We loved trying Khmer desserts and Japanese Sushi- it was delicious!

In our topic we have been learning all about ‘Cambodia’. We have been answering the register in Khmer and learning how to count to 10. We have also really enjoyed hearing stories read in Khmer by some of the families of our classmates.

Our topic this Learning Block is ‘All About Me’. We have been talking about healthy eating and ways that we can stay healthy. RB and RV worked together to make oatmeal cookies, fruit salad and jam sandwiches.
This week we have been learning about ‘Our School’. We used the iPads to take pictures of our favourite area in the school and talked about why we liked it.
We also have being working with our first personal goal: being adaptable, by talking about it during circle time and reading many books and writing speech bubbles on how we have been adaptable.
